There are a couple of courses I’d like to tell you about if you are interested in making money from blogging.

First is Yaro Starak’s BlogMastermind. It is six months long and you can pay in monthly instalments via Paypal, so it is very convenient.

I have done the course and I like it a lot. It is practical and clear. Yaro recommends that you combine what you are interested in with a focus on customers (this pragmatic approach I find very appealing). I like Yaro’s style because it is mostly free of hype and focused on delivering the information. And all the information is there. It begins with the basics of setting up a blog, then writing it and how to write good posts through to promoting the blog and finishing with how to make an income from your blogging. There is a lesson deliverred every week for six months and they are all good. All of them have action items and the items are worth doing.

One of the most impressive things about Yaro is that he provides free content that is extremely valuable. Many (especially in the Internet Marketing world) provide ‘free content’ that is almost entirely devoid of information and is little more than an extended advertisement. Yaro doesn’t do this. There is always something of value - and usually high value - in the free content that he provides. Yaro also provides free videos on how to become a blogger at Become A Blogger.

My only criticism (which is quite a compliment - I’m a pretty ruthless critic) is Yaro’s approach to technical difficulties. Yaro’s advice if you can’t do the technical stuff is to get someone else to. This will usually be by paying them. Fair enough - and it doesn’t cost much comparatively. However, it depends what you compare to. If you are poor you may not have this option.

This course will take you step by step from not knowing anything to having a worthwhile blog in six months. The activities from each lesson are all directly related to the purpose of building a popular and income producing blog. I recommend the course very highly.

The new intake to the course is happening in about a week. And if you sign up through other people rather than directly they get a percentage of the sale (like a shop getting a percentage of the price of what they sell - this kind of retail in the blogosphere is called an ‘affiliate’ relationship). Due to other pressures I haven’t got my act together to sign up as an affiliate. If I get may act together I’ll edit this post and add a link so you can buy through me if you want to. For now I’ll point you to someone else to sign up through.

Which brings me to the second course I’d like to talk about. Paul Piotorowski is also a graduate of BlogMastermind and is soon starting a course called How to Make Money Doing What You Love. This clicked with me immediately and I hope to do the course when it begins, within a few weeks. I reviewed Paul’s blog - along with many others - last Tuesday in this post.

If you are more to the vocational end of blogging then Paul’s course may be exactly what you are looking for. It clicks absolutely with me.

You can find out about Paul’s course on his post Why My Mentorship/Membership Site Will Work For You. I can’t say anymore because I haven’t done the course. But it does look very exciting if you want to make money doing what you love (which has been a theme of my life for the past two decades). You can sign up to Yaro’s course through Paul on the post Yaro Starak Teaches Conversion Blogging.

If you are interested in making money from blogging both these courses are well worth checking out.
