It’s a sad day in the blogosphere. Sarah Luczaj is no longer going to be writing her excellent blog Psychology, Philosophy and Real Life. This is even sadder because her posts lately have been great, even by her own high standards. Her goodbye post is Goodbye for now: My Blogging Experiences (where she says nice things about my blog – I hope they’re true). A great recent post is Whats the Point? The Key Question in Therapy. Also see her two recent posts on self-esteem issues for women and men, both really good.

Sarah is moving on to doing on line counseling at mytherapist.com.

Tom Stine is someone I link to often. And he kindly did a guest post, on divorce being a good option, for me earlier this week. I want to point you to an interview he did with one of his spiritual teachers – Larry Melton. It is a fairly long podcast but well worth the time. Larry holds down a normal job (rather than making his money from being a ‘guru’) and (perhaps because of this?) speaks in a very down-to-earth way that is very accessible. Larry and Tom are both in the no-self tradition. And they both talk understandably about how the insights of this tradition can impact daily life. So grab a coffee, relax and give it a listen.

A provocatively titled post from Spiritual River: Everything You Know About Treating Addiction Is Wrong. The proposal is to replace twelve step and other approaches with an emphasis on creativity. The post is well written and full of insight. I think you’ll find it stimulating even if you don’t agree with all of it.

Finally I’d like to point you to a new directory: glczone. “Glc” stands for growth, learning and change. It is a directory of health and self-development blogs. I have only just signed up and spent a little time looking around. There are already dozens of blogs listed and some of them look excellent. You also have the opportunity to rate different blogs (not sure how to do this yet). I like this idea as trying to find blogs on the larger sites (like Technorati) usually involves me looking at hundreds of sites and deciding they are not really what I’m interested in anyway. A more focused directory like this one seems like an excellent idea.

aw Evan – I feel all mushy. Thanks so much for the nice comments! And as far as your blog is concerned – of course I am right ;-)

I expect I shall nip back in for the occasional post when something fires me up, so don’t forget the blog – there should be someone new on there soon too.
