Lily Casura writes a blog for war veterans. Lily writes from the US but deals with the issues which all veterans need to deal with.
Lily and I met through Facebook – we share an interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture and so forth). Especially in a particular kind of Traditional Chinese Medicine that is organised around the ‘five elements’ (the esoterica about how this differs from other schools I won’t go into here). Lily and I also share the same Myers-Briggs type (INTJ), so we hit it off immediately.
Lily’s blog is called Healing Combat Trauma. Recently Lily has done a series on military sexual trauma. She covers a great variety of topics, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and profiles of therapists. She has also recently done a story on Australian veterans, for which she gets extra points.
Lily writes well, which is always a bonus for a blogger. She also provides lots of links, so that if you want to follow up anything in a post you will usually have lots of options for doing so. Healing Combat Trauma is a great blog if you are a veteran, or if you have a friend or family member who is a veteran. Highly recommended.
