My response to advocates of the "Law" of Attraction is "total twaddle", but "Ya reckon?" sounds pretty good as well. Best wishes with all your life changes. David

Hi Isabella,

Yes, criticism doesn't bring change. Insistence builds resistance, when we are criticised we defend ourselves.

It's almost always possible to find areas of agreement with the person if not their opinion.

I wasn't trying to recommend being offensive (or even changing others).

Thanks for your comment.

funny!

"ya reckon" immediately makes me think of of jim carrey in ace ventura saying, hm, how can i transcribe it, "hngwheeeally!" (="really??").

"ya, right" would be another thing i'd be tempted to snort, or "innnnnteresting."

i have to say, though, that i try to stifle these exclamations. people who have beliefs that i find outlandish are not going to change their minds because of my disbelief; generally, i get farther in the conversation if i find out what it is that they like so much about whatever their strange animal is.

and my attempts at stifling aren't always successful :)

Well Ma'am,
I'd surely like to thank you for your comment.

Can't do a convincing southern accent I'm afraid.

Hi Brenda,
I do think we create our reality and that focus is vital to this process. My problem with the law of attraction is that creating our reality means working with 'what is' and not just visualising and waiting, I think taking action is vital.

Thanks for your comment Brenda.

Evan, this post made me laugh because "Ya Reckon?" is also a saying in the American South. I pictured you speaking in a Southern accent for a minute - truly mind bending!!

I'm with Chris's comment regarding the Law of Attraction. I do believe that what we choose to focus on comes to fruition. We are definitely conscious creators of our reality. Having said that, certainly all the sensationalism definitely has done a number on people's outlook on it.
