A new non-profit called the “Let Go . . . Let Peace Come in Foundation” has been formed to help and heal survivors of childhood sexual abuse. They are seeking people willing to post their childhood photo and caption, their story or their creative expression to be posted on their website www.letgoletpeacecomein.org. They hope that,
By uniting survivors from around the globe we hope to provide a stronger and more powerful voice to those survivors who have not yet found the courage to speak out or have been cast aside with disbelief.
They would also like it if you know any survivors of childhood sexual abuse that you let them know about the site. The Administrative Director of “Let Go . . . Let Peace Come In” is Gretchen Paulsen. Her email (with brackets and capitals inserted to replace the symbols, to defeat the spam bots) is gretchen[AT]letgoletpeacecomein[DOT]org.
About this initiative I feel a little mixed. I feel that it could be remarkably positive but I’m a little wary. If you want to participate by writing your own story, then my advice is to make sure you are feeling solid and secure. Being in the middle of processing your stuff is probably not the time to stir up more feelings by writing your story. If you do decide to do it, please make sure that you are feeling strong and have good support in place. Reading others’ stories can also be disturbing and stir up feelings that can be extremely difficult to handle.
Having said which: I think this could be an extremely important and worthwhile initiative. Please consider carefully if you would like to be involved.
Would you like to feel less stressed?
Could you do with more joy in your life?
The answer is living authentically. Buy the book or sign up for the course now from my Living Authentically website.
