I have a guest post on the Philosophy, Psychology and Real Life blog. It is called After Therapy, Style. It asks the question of what happens once we have faced and resolved our past traumas and inappropriate habits and decisions. Is it then just up to us and does counselling have nothing more to offer? My answer is that counselling and psychotherapy do have something to offer people after they have addressed the past. What it offers is assistance to the person in developing their own style – their own unique way of life. Hope you like it.

(It only looks like I’ve been posting heaps lately on this blog. I actually wrote the stuff over a few weeks and it was posted close together. I’m not quite as popular as it seems.)

  1. It seems to me that’s what life coaching is about, developing our own style. I like that term better than counseling because it separates therapy, i.e. dealing with past traumas, from moving ahead and making the most of our lives.

    Hi Jean,

I like the term ‘coaching’ too. Do you think the processes of therapy and coaching are also different? I’d be interested to hear your take on this.
