This post is to alert you to a newsletter by Tom Volkar, which I hope you will subscribe to. So, I’d like to introduce you to Tom.

Tom is a man after my own heart – though we are very different in style. I think of Tom as the yang to my yin. In his writing at least he is very extraverted and high energy – and all that energy is put out there. Tom has boldness and forthrightness in bucket-loads.

Tom is concerned about people living from the very core of who they are. His specific focus is on helping people create businesses (or transition in their work) in harmony with this core. This aligns exactly with my concerns and values.

A Little Background on Tom
Tom discovered his call to find his vocation with the question: “Is this as good as it gets?” He then discovered that, “Once we consider the idea of being paid well for doing what we love – there really is no going back.” This was in 1988. From here it was a seven year journey to launch his first business. From this point on he has been working in career coaching.

It was a few weeks ago when he decided to truly answer his “big, bold call”. This was to get all of his four core values into alignment. As Tom says,

Life is far too magnificent to remain working in any way that falls short of bringing you totally alive!

His approach to this is to,

reconnect the link between expressed authenticity (true calling) and abundance both in money and fulfilment,

and so, because he realises he cannot do this alone he is asking for your help to,

build this groundswell of a movement. If you think the world will be a better, happier place when everyone is doing what he or she was meant to do – then join me.

This post, Awakening to Your True Calling, has a box near the end where you can sign up for the newsletter.

If you feel like I do that,

You’ve paid your authentic dues. Now it’s your time to cash in.

then joining me in signing up for Tom’s newsletter is a good place to begin. He provides lots of great content and is always reminding us to return to our core, our uniqueness and our vocation. He provides lots of challenge as well as useful and practical content.

To learn more about Tom and his approach there is his blog Delightful Work and his career, business and life coaching website CoreU. Both have great content.

If authenticity is your core concern – as it is mine; however you may see this (your core, expression of what is precious, your uniqueness or however you may put it) – especially if you are interested in building your work from this basis, then I highly recommend Tom’s newsletter.

Would you like to feel less stressed?

  1. Evan, thanks so much for your invitation to you readers to join us as this great reconnection builds. It’s early demonstrations of support like yours that so generously help all of us come together sooner. Public declaration of true calling can be a lonely enterprise. True calling scares many and one must first declare the fear real but irrelevant and embrace the honor of authenticity as you have so boldly done.
