Just a quickie to point you to a post on anorexia in men by Isabella Mori of Change Therapy (you will find a link to her blog in my Blogroll).

Anorexia in men is, I think, not thought about nearly enough. Isabella is reporting a study that attempts to re-dress the balance of the focus on women and anorexia.

The study also compared the professional understanding of the problem and the understanding of friends and family. For instance,
“experts and literature agreed that a distorted body image is characteristic of male anorexia, patients and family did not”.

It’s an important topic and a good post, you can go to it by clicking on this link.

Looking forward to seeing more on it.

Hope it generates some interest in a topic that I don’t think is thought about enough.

  3. If someone you know manifests a symptom of Anorexia or any eating disorder, it is important to talk about the need for a treatment.

    Hi Anorexia Treatment,

I entirely agree. And important to do it in a gentle way I think. People with Anorexia can be offended if you suggest they have a problem – my experience anyway.

    Thanks for your comment.

Thank you, Evan. You have hit the nail on the head with this statement. I am a male getting through this disorder and there are so many young men overcoming this or going through this like myself. All you have to do is look around you, there are many thin guys out there and I know they are suffering and scrificing so much to be the way they are….sacrificing including their future.

Only a little whie ago I suffered a cardiac arrest due to my eating disorders and excessive excersize. If anyone reading this is suffering from anorexia, if you wish to live, do not do this to yourself. You are eating up your muscles, including your heart muscles, and you will die…I did and by some miracle I made it.
