For those who want to know more about me and my approach to health.

After I left my wife I had a grand plan to run retreats and build a counseling practice.  This did not work out, however there was one good result a friend and I (Carmen Burnet) wrote a book, called Living Authentically (out of print for the moment, if you live in Brisbane there are copies in the council libraries).  At this time I also, with a friend, started an ebay business.  It was a busy time of new initiatives.

I’ve retained a faith in Christ, though don’t bother with denominations anymore.  I am no longer a fundamentalist, and most evangelicals wouldn’t want to own me as a christian (though I think they are largely well intentioned people, many of them doing much good - this is the individuals I mean, not the institutions they are part of).

Since then I’ve lived a little bit of a migratory life.  This has been an unsettled time and has been quite difficult at times.  For instance I moved to Cairns and found that the ebay business wouldn’t work there (although it only took us four days to drive there Australia Post took an extra two weeks to deliver stuff to Cairns compared to Brisbane.  This turn around time made it impossible to run an ebay of my kind.

From Cairns I moved to Sydney, where I have stayed for the last couple of years.  At the moment I’m thinking it may be time to move, but this is quite complicated as there are matters of finding work in the new location and so on.

It is only in the last few months that I have discovered blogging.  I feel like it suits me very well.  Being able to pack stuff in and write briefly feels right to me.  And having a way where people can easily contact me and talk about the writing feels great as well.  That I can write across a range of areas and focus on health is a liberation for me.

So that’s my story to date.  I hope it gives you a sense of who I am and “where I am coming from”.  Wishing you love and joy, Evan.
